The Story Behind Isaac Popper

This summer, he participated in the Sports Business Classroom program at NBA Summer League, which built on his experience working for Siegel Sports & Entertainment and other experiences including working with ESPN as a broadcast statistician for NBA and NCAA games. During his undergraduate career at Tulane, he led teams to victories in the 2023 Syracuse U. Hoops Competition (section winner) and a first-place finish at the 2024 ASU NBA Trade Deadline Competition.

Then, he gave the path to victory for Saturday, and shared how he saw Dagan Bruno effectively mimic Navy QB Blake Horvath. Michael even left fans with a score prediction.

Sam Howard Sits Down to Discuss Rice TD, Birmingham, & Locker Room

Tulane linebacker Sam Howard sat down in Yulman Stadium with Fear the Wave's Green Wave Insider, Isaac Popper. Halloween came early, because he was a monster against Rice on 10/19. He was the first Tulane player since Nico Marley to recover 2 fumbles in the same game. He scored on one scoop, sealing the victory for the Green Wave. He walked listeners through what was going on in his head during the game. Then, Sam discussed the prior game in his hometown of Birmingham. He explained why it was a "no brainer" to transfer to Tulane, thanks to Coach Polk. Sam and Isaac also discussed Sam's leadership and the other players that have taken on a leadership role in the locker room. Before ending the interview and boarding the team bus to the airport, he gave the path to victory for the upcoming game against North Texas.

Meet Your Inside the Wave Hosts

Isaac is a Master’s of Business Analytics student at Tulane University.

Isaac is an ESPN+ Broadcast Statistician for Tulane Athletics, and has received regular shoutouts during Tulane basketball games. He is a cameraman for Tulane volleyball games and has been a statistician for ESPN linear games at Devlin Fieldhouse and the Smoothie King Center.
